Your whole collection, in one place

Add your video folders to the library, then browse thumbnails with the duration, format, resolution and file size alongside them. HDR badges help you spot HDR content. Search for a title, sort your collection or group videos by HDR, resolution, folder and more.

Keep favourites close and organise videos into playlists, so the next film is easy to find. Learn about adding videos.

4K HDR, with the detail your videos deserve

The 5.0 player supports HDR10 and HLG, 10-bit colour and studio 4:2:2 10-bit video. Advanced HDR tone mapping adapts HDR content for SDR and HDR screens. HEVC, AV1, VP9 and H.264 are among the supported video codecs.

The picture you see depends on the source video, your display and your PC. Use the per-video free trial to try 10-bit HDR with your own files. Explore 4K HDR features.

Movie night, on a bigger screen

Find compatible TVs and streaming devices on your Wi-Fi and choose a screen from the cast picker. Supported device families include Chromecast, Google TV, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Samsung and LG TVs, and DLNA devices.

Your PC stays the remote for play, pause and choosing what comes next. Casting supports up to 4K HDR where the video, receiving device and network support it. TV names shown in the screenshot are CnX demo devices.

Keep watching while you browse

Return to the library without losing the video. The mini player keeps it playing in a corner while you look through your collection. Expand it to return to the full player, choose the next video or open casting from the card.

Read the mini player guide.

Build the evening’s queue

See the current video and what will play next in one queue beside the picture. Shuffle the line-up when you want a different order, or save it as a playlist to watch again. Videos can follow one another without returning to the library each time.

Subtitles that suit you

Choose an available subtitle track or add an external subtitle file. Set the text size, colour, style and position while watching. Bold, outline, shadow and a background box give you ways to make the words easier to read; subtitle delay helps line them up with the dialogue.

Light or dark, your call

Choose a light library for a bright desk, a dark library for movie night, or follow your Windows theme. Your collection stays familiar whichever appearance you choose.

Play the formats in your collection

CnX Player supports a broad range of common video formats, including MKV, MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM, TS and FLV. A filename extension describes the container; the video and audio tracks inside it determine what must be decoded. Check the format guide and codec guide for more detail.

For older controls, language options, gestures and file management, the Windows support library keeps version-specific instructions available.
