Media Casting
Amazon Fire TV Casting

How to watch videos on TV via Android using Amazon Fire TV ?
CnX Player comes with an exciting feature through which you can easily enjoy your favorite videos by viewing them on a bigger screen like a TV. Make sure you have subscribed for the Video casting feature from Navigation menu --> Upgrade feature.
Follow the steps below to set up video casting from Android device to bigger screens like TV via Amazon Fire TV:
- Amazon Fire TV stick and Android Phone or tablet from where casting is to be done should be connected in the same wifi network.
- Make sure that the Amazon FireTV device is switched on and it is connected to the TV on which you wish you cast the videos.
- On the video playback full screen, there is a TV icon on top right. Tap on this icon and select Amazon Fire TV from there. List of all the devices (TVs, bigger screens, computers etc.) that are connected to Amazon Fire TV will be displayed here. Select the device on which you which to cast the video.
- As soon as CnX Player gets connected to Amazon Fire-TV device, splash screen will appear on CnX Player and your video will start playing on the device you selected in step 2.
- Video playback controls can be easily controlled through CnX Player on your Android device.
- CnX Player also supports Amazon Fire TV remote controls, so the video playback can be controlled from this remote too.
ChromeCast Casting

How to watch videos on TV via Android using google ChromeCast ?
CnX Player comes with an exciting feature through which you can easily enjoy your favorite videos by viewing them on a bigger screen like a TV. Make sure you have subscribed for the Video casting feature from Navigation menu --> Upgrade feature.
Follow the steps below to set up video casting from Android device to bigger screens like TV via ChromeCast:
- ChromeCast device and Android Phone or tablet from where casting is to be done should be connected in the same wifi network.
- Make sure that the ChromeCast device is switched on and it is connected to the TV on which you wish you cast the videos.
- On the video playback full screen, there is a TV icon on top right. Tap on this icon and select ChromeCast from there. List of all the devices (TVs, bigger screens, computers etc.) that are connected to ChromeCast will be displayed here. Select the device on which you which to cast the video.
- As soon as CnX Player gets connected to Chrome Cast device, splash screen will appear on CnX Player and your video will start playing on the device you selected in step 2.
- Video playback controls can be easily controlled through CnX Player on your Android device.
Video Playback
Audio track

Is it possible to change Audio track of a video?
Yes, it is possible to switch to different audio track associated to the video.
Please follow steps below :
- Click on Audio Track icon on the player screen.
- This will list down all the audio tracks linked to the video being played. Choose the one you wish to enjoy your video in !
Child (Touch screen) lock

Is it possible to disable/lock touch screen while watching video ?
Yes it is possible in CnX Player to lock the touch screen when the video is being played. Click on the lock icon to lock/unlock the screen.
This feature gives an uninterrupted viewing experience !
.Continuous / loop video playback

How to continuously(loop) play videos in the list automatically ?
- Click on Settings button on full screen video playback.
- Select Loop option from the menu.
- None : Only the current video will play.
- One : Currently played video will be played in loop continuously
- All: Next video in the list will be automatically played when the current video is over.
Forward / Rewind Video

Is it possible to fast forward or rewind the video ?
CnX player offers very exciting feature of fast forward and Rewind(backward) the video. This makes viewing videos with selective skipping very simple.
Fast forward: On the video playback screen double tap on right side of the screen. Every double tap will forward the video by 10 seconds each. Which means fast forward happens at a skip interval of 10 sec, 20 sec, 30 sec, 40 sec, 50 sec and so on.... You can select the skip gap by double tapping till you reach the skip seconds.
Rewind (Backward): On the video playback screen double tap on left side of the screen. Every double tap will move the video backward by 10 seconds each. Which means fast forward happens at a skip interval of 10 sec, 20 sec, 30 sec, 40 sec, 50 sec and so on.... You can select the skip gap by double tapping till you reach the skip seconds.
Playback speed

How to change the video playback speed ?
Changing the video playback speed in CnX Player is pretty simple. Just follow the steps below:
- Tap on the settings button on video playback screen (full screen view).
- A popup will appear with various setting in it. Select "Playback speed" option.
- If you want slow motion of the video then choose 0.5x or 0.75x speed.
- If you want fast motion then choose 1.25x or 1.5x or 2.0x
Resize visual experience

Is it possible to resize my video in CnX Player ?
Yes, videos can be resized in CnX Player.
- Open settings video playback screen (full screen view).
- Select Resize option.
- Auto - this is the default size of the video.
- Crop - this will crop the center of the video and zoom in.
- Stretch - this will stretch the video to full screen.
Resume playback

How to resume the video watching from where it was left last ?
By default video will resume playing from the point where it was last stopped. But if you wish to play the videos every time from the starting point , make the following changes.
- Open Navigation bar from the toggle button at top left corner on the main screen.
- Go to Settings option
- Select Resume Playback action and switch it to ON. By doing this every time you play a video you will get option to Start over or Resume.
- Choose the option you wish to select Use by default if you wish to save your settings.
Screen settings

How to change screen visual settings ?
CnX Player allows you to change the video Brightness , Contrast and Saturation.
- Open Screen option from the settings on full screen video playback screen.
- Adjust Brightness, Contrast, Saturation as it suits to the eyes and experience best visuals. Please note, that Contrast & Brightness can be adjusted only when the video is being played using the software decoder.
If you wish to switch the video decoder for the video being played , follow the simple steps below:
- Tap on settings button on top right corner
- Select video decoder and choose software if not selected.
- Now you can change the contrast and saturation also along with brightness.
NOTE: Brightness can also be adjusted by scrolling up and down on the left side of the video playback screen.
Switch video decoder

Is it possible switch between hardware and software video decoder ?
Yes, CnX Player lets user to switch between hardware and software video codecs.
CnX Plyer has highly optimized video codecs implementation. By default CnX player uses hardware video decoders to play a file , because of its own benefits.
To switch between default video codec follow the steps below:
- Open Navigation bar from the toggle button at top left corner on the main screen.
- Select Settings and then select Select video decoder. Choose the option among hardware and software.
To switch codec while playing video , follow the steps below:
- Tap on settings button on top right corner.
- Select video decoder and select the desired codec.
User Interface
Color themes

What all color themes are available and how to change it ?
CnX Player offers 8 cool and vibrant color themes which gives all together a new look to the player whenever the theme changes ! You can change the theme via application or via Wifi Management.
Manage themes via application:
- Open Navigation bar from the toggle button at top left corner on the main screen.
- Select Settings option.
- Choose the theme you wish to as per your mood !
- Available themes: Harmony, Soothing, Sweet& Tender, Heaven, Creativity, Optimism, Cool & Calm, Rejuvenation.
Manage themes via Wifi Management
- Open Navigation bar from the toggle button at top left corner on the main screen.
- Click on the Wi-Fi Management option.
- Popup will appear in center of the screen which contains the information about the network connected and also the addresses through which you can manage the application from the web browser. Type one of the two addresses into the url location of the web browser and press enter.
- On the bottom right corner there is a settings icon, click on it and you will see all the themes available. Select which ever theme you wish to. selected theme will be applied on your Android device CnX Player.
Gesture controls

Which all gesture controls are available in CnX Player ?
CnX Player offers very easy playback control with Intuitive and simple gesture controls. Basic needs while watching a video is quick access for volume control, changing the brightness or fast forward and rewind the video. All these features can be easily controlled via figure gestures on the video playback screen.
Fast forward video
Double Tap on right side of the video playback screen to forward the video by 10 seconds on every tap. Every continuous right double tap will forward(skip) the video in multiple of 10 seconds each. Which means continuous double tap on right side of the playback screen will be skip video by 10 sec, 20 sec , 30 sec, 40 sec and so on up to the length of video .....
Rewind video
Double Tap on left side of the video playback screen to rewind the video by 10 seconds on every tap. Every continuous left double tap will rewind the video in multiple of 10 seconds each. Which means continuous double tap on left side of the playback screen will rewind the video by 10 sec, 20 sec , 30 sec, 40 sec and so on up to the start of video ....
Control Volume
Controlling the volume while watching a video in CnX Player is just a swipe up and down ! Right side of the video playback screen lets user to control the volume. Swipe up to increase the volume and swipe down to reduce the volume.
Change brightness
Easily change the brightness of a video while you are watching it, without switching any window. Screen brightness can be controlled by swiping up and down on left hand side of the playback screen. Swipe up to increase and swipe down to reduce brightness.
Seek Video
Seek the video to back location or forward location by just dragging the seek bar at the bottom of video playback screen.
Personalized video view options

How to switch between different view options of the video gallery?
CnX Player provides 3 different view options - List View, Album View, Folder View for the videos collection. This awesome feature in CnX player gives a super easy accessibility to the videos in different views. Switching from one view to another is just a single tap.
Follow the below steps to change the view of video container representing the videos :
- Click on More option button which appears on the bottom right corner of the video history screen.
- A popup will appear which will list all the 3 (Album View , List View and Folder View) view options and Video sorting options.
- Select the view as per your personal choice.
- Each view has its own advantage based upon the information related to videos.
Audio/Video Information
Audio codecs

How to find out audio codec information of the video being played ?
To check the audio codec information of a video, follow the following steps:
- Click on Settings button on full screen video playback.
- Select "Properties" menu from there.
- Under the Audio section there is codec information available.
CnX player supports all the popular Audio Codecs listed below:
- AAC-LC
- HE-AACv1
- HE-AACv2
- MP3
- MP2
- MP1
- Ogg Vorbis.

Video Codecs

How to find video codec information of the video being played?
To check the video codec information of a video, follow the following steps:
- 1. Click on "Settings" button on full screen video playback.
- 2. Select "Properties" menu from there.
- 3. Under the Video section there is codec information available.
CnX Player has highly optimized implementation of next generation hardware and software video codecs. Video codecs are highly responsible for giving the best visual experience. CnX Player's codecs implementation uses hardware acceleration, which makes it consume very less battery. By default hardware video codec is used to play video. However there is an option to change hardware codec to software codec through the Menu option of the player on top left corner of the home screen.
CnX Player supports following video codecs:
- H.265 ( x265 ) or HEVC
- H.265 ( H265 ) or HEVC 10-bit
- H.264 ( x264 ) or AVC

Hide/Show videos

How to Hide/Show (unhide) videos from displaying in the CnX player gallery ?
If you don’t want to see some videos come up in the video browsing pane of CnX Player, its very simple to hide the video ! Reason to hide a folder could be :
- Parental control - Don't want kids to view some videos on the device.
- There are tons of videos in the device and you don't want to see them all.
- Privacy from others.
- Or any other reason.
To hide or show the videos, you need to hide or show the folder that contains the video. If you wish to hide selective videos, then use create a new folder and put those videos in this folder and then hide or show it. Follow the following steps::
- Click on More option button which appears on the bottom right corner of the video history screen.
- A popup will appear which will have Show/Hide Videos option at the bottom. Tap on this.
- List of folders that have videos in them will appear here.
- By default all the videos are shown, so none is hidden.
- Tap on the folder which you wish to hide. Hidden folder will highlighted in red.
- All the videos in the hidden folder will NOT BE SHOWN in the video collection.
- To unhide or show the video, simply tap on the hidden folder and it will now show up in the video collection.
History

How to view and manage history of videos played ?
CnX Player home screen displays the history(time when it was played last) of videos that have been played. Count of videos to be maintained for history can be managed as below:
- Open Navigation Bar from top left corner of home screen.
- Select Settings from the menu.
- Select History Count menu.
- Choose the number of videos you wish to maintain the history for.
You can also Clear Playback history from the Navigation Bar --> Settings -- >> Clear Playback history
Multitasking

How to do multitasking in CnX player ?
CnX Player offers a really exciting feature of Multitasking and helps you save time ! Which means you can do other things on your device and enjoy watching the video parallelly by reducing its size.
To do multitasking , follow the steps below:
- 1. On the video playback full screen there is an icon with an inward arrow on top right corner.
- 2. Tap on this icon, the video player screen will reduce down and float on top of the device screen.
- 3. You can stretch the screen size by pulling down from the right bottom corner.
- 4. You can now enjoy watching the video and at the back you can do any other work.
- 5. To come back to normal screen size, tap on outward arrow on the bottom left corner of the floating screen.
Search Videos

How to search video in CnX Player?
You can search videos by name of the video.
- Click on the search button on main home screen.
- There will be a search bar on top of the screen, enter name of the video you are searching for.
- Videos matching the text entered in the search bar will appear in the list below.
Subtitle

How to attach external subtitles to the video ?
You can attach external downloaded subtitles to the video. Follow the steps below:
- On the video playback screen, click on 2nd icon on top right of the screen.
- Select external tab on the popup.
- A list of all the associated external subtitle files in your Android device will be listed here.
- Select the file you wish to attach to the video.
You can change the settings of subtitles from the Settings tab.
Manage Videos
Multiple delete

Is it possible to delete multiple media/videos in one go ?
Yes, CnX Player provides a feature of Multiple delete through which you can manage your videos collection very easily. Videos deleted from here, will be deleted from the device itself.
Delete videos through app:
Follow the below steps to delete multiple videos through the application :
- Long tap on the video in gallery you wish to delete. [Note: currently playing video will not be allowed for selection]
- Player will now come in edit mode, which means you can now select multiple videos you wish to delete.
- Once all the videos for deletion are selected, tap on Delete button at the bottom of the screen.
- You will be asked for delete confirmation, select "Yes" if you wish to delete them , else select "No".
Delete videos via "Wi-Fi Management"
- Open Navigation bar from the "toggle button" at top left corner on the main screen.
- Click on the WiFi Management option.
- Popup will appear in center of the screen which contains the information about the network connected and also the addresses through which you can manage the application from the web browser. Type one of the two addresses into the url location of the web browser and press enter.
- All the videos in your Android device will appear in this web browser.
- Select the videos you wish to delete. If there are multiple files selected then click on delete icon on top left corner on the browser.
Wifi video transfer from PC to phone/tablet (CnX Player media storage)

How to do Wifi video transfer from my PC to phone/tablet ?
CnX Media Storage can be accessed from PC via browser (chrome, safari, edge, firefox etc.) when your device and PC will be connected to same wi-fi network and then you can add media to your application easily. The feature through which you can do this functionality is Wi-Fi Management.
Follow the below steps to add media via Wifi management :
- Open Navigation bar from the toggle button at top left corner on the main screen.
- Click on the Wi-Fi Management option.
- Popup will appear in center of the screen which contains the information about the network connected and also the addresses through which you can manage the application from the web browser. Type one of the two addresses into the url location of the web browser and press enter.
- Click the upload button at the top bar to upload files OR you can also drag the files near upload button to start uploading.
- If you have not mentioned the save location folder, then the videos will be saved in CnXMediaFiles folder by default.
Wifi videos transfer from phone/tablet to PC

How to do Wifi video transfer from my phone/tablet to PC ?
Transferring videos from your Android phone or tablet without wires is just so easy and simple in CnX Player. Wifi media management in CnX Player makes videos transfer, rename and delete so quick and hassle free !
Steps to transfer videos from android device to PC via CnX Player through Wifi :
- Open Navigation bar from the toggle button at top left corner on the main screen.
- Click on the Wi-Fi Management option.
- Popup will appear in center of the screen which contains the information about the network connected and also the addresses through which you can manage the application from the web browser. Type one of the two addresses into the URL location of the web browser and press enter.
- All the videos in your Android device will appear in this web browser.
- Select the videos you wish to transfer.
- Click on Download button, enter the save location. Video will be saved here without any cables !
Troubleshooting
Not able to delete some videos

Not able to delete some selective videos, Why ?
This case will happen when the video is denied of any write permissions like delete or rename. In most of the cases, these video files are in the external storage of device. To give this video write access , its main parent folder (in the SD card) needs to be given write access.
- Open Navigation bar from the toggle button at top left corner on the main screen.
- Go to Settings option.
- Click on Add writable storage location.
- Click on Add button.
- There will be a list of folders in SD card.
- Select the entire SD card by tapping on "Select SD card" option if you want to give write access to all the videos.
- If you wish to give selective folder the write access, then choose that folder only.
- All the videos in the selected folder will now have delete/rename access.
Note: You can again remove the write access given to the folders by tapping on Clear button at the bottom.
Not able to play 10-bit video

How to play 10-bit video in CnX Player ?
CnX Player supports the following 10-bit format codecs:
- HEVC aka X265
- VP9
- H.264 (X264)
To play 10 bit files make sure Professional Video codecs (10bit) feature is purchased. If it was never purchased from the Gmail id associated with the device then you need to purchase the feature.
Follow the simple steps below:
- Click on Upgrade features in the navigation menu.
- Select Professional Video codecs category and click on Purchase.
- Fill in the required details. Once the transaction is successful, Professional Video codecs feature will be enable for your id for lifetime.
If is was purchased earlier but it is still not playing , then follow the steps below:
- Make sure you are using the same Gmail account using which you had earlier made the purchase. The id linked to this account is kept in google database and CnX Player will get the information from there only. If the account is not same and is a new one, then user will have to make a new purchase.
- Go to Upgrade features and click on Restore button. You will now see all the features you had purchased earlier as Purchased.
This scenario sometimes happen when there is an upgrade of the apps. So restoring does solve everything in seconds !

Not able to play video/audio

Not able to play the video/audio ?
Kindly send us the following at support@cnxplayer.com:
- 1. Upload the video to Dropbox or any other source and share the link with us.
- 2. Share the device name and model on which this video is not able to play.
We will get back to you within 24 hours after receiving the email.
Network streaming
Play Video Stream

How to play a network video stream ?
CnX Player enables its users to play HTTP Network Streaming (HLS) , MPEG-DASH & http progressive streams.
Follow the steps below :
- Go to Navigation menu and click on Stream.
- Enter video link ( url ) and click play.
If you are not able to play the video stream, please check that the entered url is correct. If it still gives an issue, reach CnX Player tech team at support@cnxplayer.com
